So, I read this prompt early in the morning—like around 5 am—right after I woke up suddenly.
And, um, I’ve developed this weird little habit of checking Jetpack first thing.
Just to see how many people visited my blog and how many likes I got.
It’s like muscle memory now. I do it without even thinking.
Anyway, the moment I read the prompt, my brain instantly screamed: crisp aloo ke paranthe! That’s my all-time favorite food. No doubt about it.
But then I paused for a second and thought… you know what? Simple food can taste amazing when you’re hungry af.
And that reminded me of this one day when I was coming back home from school, absolutely starving.
Like, I could’ve eaten anything at that point.
My mom wasn’t home that day, so she had asked our neighbor aunty to feed us lunch.
She was a Punjaban aunty—and if you know anything about Punjabis, you know they make the best desi food.
She served us puri and sabji. And oh my god, I swear, that was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life.
Even now, just typing this out, my mouth is literally watering. It was so damn tasty.
I’ve compared that meal to the same dish my mom makes, and I’ve realized something.
It wasn’t just the food—it was the hunger. That hunger made it taste like heaven.
Besides that, there’s cheesecake. I tried it for the first time and I was like… mmmmmmmm… so freaking tasty.
But yeah, you can’t eat more than 4-5 scoops of it. Still, totally worth it.
And now, just talking about all this, I feel hungry again!
