Bollywood does produce lame action movies like Race3, Players, Veer, and the list can go on. But, Bollywood has some excellent action movies in its store. In this post, I will be sharing a list of 7 Best Action Movies In Bollywood that are a must-watch for every action lover.
Commando (2013)
Directed by Dilip Ghosh, Commando is a 2013 Action-Adventure movie. The story is about an elite Indian soldier Karan who is trapped in Chinese territory due to a plane crash. Karan must find a way out of the enemy camp! This movie has terrific action sequences with mostly hand to hand combats. Commando was the big film that re-introduced Vidyut Jamwal in the Bollywood industry. It is by far, the best movie of Vidyut Jamwal, a must-watch!
Rocky Handsome (2016)
Directed by Nishikant Kamat, Rocky Handsome stars John Abraham(Kabir) in the lead. Kabir runs a pawn shop in Goa. He has this lovely neighbor, an eight-year-old girl, Naomi. When Naomi gets kidnapped by a ‘Medical-Mafia’ gang who sell body parts, Kabir comes to the rescue for the eight-year-old girl. Kabir is not just a regular person, his real personality is revealed later in the movie and that scene is like WOAH! This film has a decent plot, and the last fight scene is just WOW!
Phantom (2015)
Phantom is the story of a disgraced Indian soldier, Daniyal, who sets out for an impossible mission to kill all of the 26/11 suspects. The movie stars Saif-Ali-Khan & Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. This is a fictional story, and that’s why the tagline ‘A story you wish were true.’ Personally, this is an underrated movie, and I believe it has a very decent plot and definitely outstanding action sequences. It has gunfights, explosions, and every element you can expect from an action movie. It is definitely a one-time watch.
Ek Tha Tiger (2012)
One of the few good movies of Salman Khan. Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is the story of an elite RAW agent by the name ‘Tiger.’ Tiger is sent to Dublin to keep an eye on an Indian scientist who is suspected of selling nuclear secrets to Pakistan’s Intelligence Agency, ISI. In Dublin, Tiger falls in love with his caretaker ‘Zoya,’ a girl with hidden secrets. The best thing about this movie is its pace; you will not get bored. It has some decent action sequence that includes car chase, gunfights, and hand to hand combats.
WAR (2019)
One of the biggest blockbusters of the year 2019. WAR is the story of a clash between a teacher and a student, one might say. Kabir is a secret agent who goes rogue after a mission to catch a criminal goes wrong. The agency is scared as Kabir knows too much about various covert operations. Therefore, they sent Khalid, another agent, and Kabir’s student(in a way) to track him down. I have given a detailed review of this movie here.
URI (2019)
Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘URI’ is a 2019 military action movie. The story is based on the ‘Surgical Strike’ conducted by the Indian military on POK(Pakistan Occupied Kashmir). Watching this movie definitely gives you goosebumps because of the story and the emotions behind it. One of my personal favorite Vicky Kaushal movies. A must-watch if you’re into military action movies.
Baahubali (2015 & 2017)
I believe most of us have watched this blockbuster series. If not, you’re missing something outstanding. Baahubali is the story of a true king ‘Amrendra Baahubali’ who is killed by his own brother to rule the great kingdom of Mahishmati. The plot is about the revenge of Mahendra Baahubali, Amrendra’s son, and bring justice to his mother and peace to the realm of Mahishmati. This movie is an absolute beauty, from storyline to graphics to realistic action-sequences—one of my favorites and a must-watch for every cinephile out there.
