Directed by Vicky Jewson, ‘Close‘ is a 2019 American action-thriller movie. This is her second movie after the 2008 horror movie ‘Lady Godiva.’ The movie stars Noomi Rapace in the lead role. Noomi’s character is based on the female bodyguard Jacquie Davis– one of the leading female bodyguards in this world. Jacquie Davis has served peoples like J.K Rowling and various members of the British Royal family.
Close is a very well acted and short movie. The story is about Sam (Noomi Rapace), a hardened private soldier who gets a contract to safeguard Zoe Tanner, heiress to the billion-dollar company ‘Hassine Minings.’ Zoe is being targeted by some unknown assassins, and Sam, being her bodyguard, is determined to save her client.
This is one of the realistic action-movies you can watch on Netflix. The action sequences feel real and not some made-up shit like unbelievable car chases and whatnot. The plot of the story is decent yet predictable. The writers tried to add some suspense in it, but sadly they couldn’t.
Acting-vise, Noomi Rapace did a pretty good job. She seemed exactly like a bodyguard to me. Sophie Nelisse(Zoe) acted well too the part of a pampered rich kid.
Overall, it was a decent movie. Not great, but not bad too. I would rate it a 6 out of 10 and would recommend watching it only if you’re running out on good movies, just like me.
