Akshaye Khanna is back with a bang!
I saw the recommendation of ‘State Of Siege: Temple Attack’ on an Instagram post and immediately added it to my watchlist. The post described this as a ‘Must-watch film for every Indian Army lover‘!
And indeed it is!
When I read the name, I immediately thought of Gujarat. I didn’t have much information but I knew this would be based on the infamous temple attack in Gujarat that happened way back in 2002. I had heard about it in news but never tried to find more information about it on my own. (Yes, I feel guilty about it)
Firstly, you should know this is the second instalment in the State Of Siege series/movies. The first one is about the 26/11 attacks on Mumbai. I too haven’t watched it but it has an impressive 8.1 rating on IMDB. (About this, personally, I don’t think there is any better movie/series on 26/11 attacks than Nana Patekar’s documentary-drama ‘The Attacks Of 26/11’)
Do watch it, you won’t regret it!
Coming back to ‘Temple Attack’, this is one hell of an intense movie! The facts are changed for a better cinematic experience like there are 4 terrorists shown in the movie instead of 2 and several other things just like this.
Akshaye Khanna is clearly the star of the movie playing the role of a NSG commando. There are multiple actors in this film with screentime divided almost equally, except for Akshaye Khanna who enjoys the majority of the screentime!
About the visuals and cinematography, it is apt and keeps you hooked to the end. The background music is tense and it actually improves your watching experience. The total duration is just under two hours, nothing draggy just perfect!
Another good watch for this weekend, I WANT you to watch this movie, no matter what! Firstly, because it’s a great movie and secondly to realise and be thankful for what the security forces do for us daily! Learn more about this incident here: Akshardham Temple Attack.
