I watched The Peacemaker (1997) today.
It was on Netflix, right in the action-thrillers section – my favourite.
I have begun liking old Hollywood movies. There’s this charm to them. The cars, the actors’ style, the actresses’ haircuts – it all looks so elegant.
Also, the whole film has this camera tint which makes it feel old and nostalgic.
The movie is about a military colonel and a civilian who are trying to track stolen nuclear bombs and neutralize them before they blow up.
The pace of the movie is good, but at one point I felt they should have ended the story… but they didn’t.
It has a decent story and everything connects well — sort of.
The chase and fights seem real, but the ending is a bit too much. They could have done it more realistically, I guess.
But it’s a movie. They have their ‘creative liberty’, so yeah.
A decent watch. 5.8 out of 10.
