Interesting question, isn’t it?
For me, the answer feels like a small story—one that reflects not just things, but the way I’ve lived.
I won’t lie – these days, money has been tight.
I’m struggling a bit financially.
And coming from a middle-class Indian family, you grow up with a certain mindset: you use things until they’re truly unusable… and then you still try to use them a little more.
So naturally, I have quite a few old things that are still part of my daily life—clothes, notebooks, and more.
For example, there’s this one notebook on my table right now, sitting beside me as I write this.
I bought it back in 2017 when I was in college. I remember choosing a thick, fat notebook on purpose—hoping it would last all three years of my course.
It actually did.
That notebook has traveled with me through different places and phases.
And now, after all these years, it’s resting here in my family home.
There are still many blank pages in it.
These days, I use it to jot down notes when I’m watching YouTube videos or doing an online course.
It’s like it quietly evolved with me – from a college notebook to a personal learning companion.
And then, there are my diaries.
I have three of them, each bought in a different year: 2011, 2013, and 2017.
None of them are completely filled, which is funny in a way.
I’ve never really finished one before starting a new one.
(Don’t ask me why – it just happens.)
Still, they all have parts of me scattered across their pages – memories, thoughts, random scribbles.
And I go back to them, often.
But the most surprising thing I still use regularly is… my LinkedIn account.
I created it way back in 2012, when I was in 8th standard.
I had no idea what LinkedIn really was—I just had this obsession with exploring new platforms, new tools.
The internet was 2G back then in my town, so you can imagine how I created that account!
Fast forward to now – more than a decade later – and I’ve been using that same account actively (somewhat) for the last three years or so.
It’s become an important part of my daily internet scrolling!
I was actually reminded of how old it is by LinkedIn itself – they sent me a notification, and I ended up writing a post about it.
If you’re curious, you can check it out on my profile.
So, yeah. These are some of the oldest things I own – and still use, almost daily.
How about you? What’s stayed with you through the years?
