Games I Played, Games I Didn’t….

Now, I’m not really into games. Especially outdoor ones.

I used to play cricket a lot as a kid – like most Indian kids. It was kind of a routine. One to three hours after school, and even more on Sundays and holidays.

It went on for years. And then, one year, it just stopped. I think it was around the time of my 10th board exams.

After that, I kind of lost interest in it.

Then in 11th, I broke my collarbone while playing football. That was pretty much the end of outdoor sports for me.

In college, my school friends – yeah, I had the same group in college too – used to play basketball. And there I was, sitting on the side, just watching them.

Occasionally, I’d join in. And with a bang – once I made a basket from half court. I thought, yep, that’s enough basketball for me for at least 10 years.

I switched to card games when I started working. And I love card games – I can play them all day long.

Teen-patti, hukum, and all sorts of variations.

I don’t like board games like snakes and ladders, ludo, or carrom. I never seem to win at them. I don’t know why.

And when you lose that much, you just don’t feel like playing anymore.

Comparatively, I win more in card games. So yeah, I kind of like that.

About video games – honestly, I say I don’t like them, but the truth is I’ve never really tried them.

In my childhood, I didn’t have a PC. Other kids used to talk about games, and I was just clueless.

Since I never had access to them, I never developed that urge or interest.

Even when I got a mobile and later a laptop, I rarely played video games. With the exception of Clash of Clans and Mini Militia.

I did try PUBG, but left it after a while.

I’m very poor at games like PUBG.

So yeah, that’s my entire history with games, I guess – as a 27-year-old.

I see guys get so happy when they buy or receive a PS5. I’m not sure I’d feel the same, given my history with games.
