What Foods Would I Like to Make?

Hmm… honestly, I’m not a good chef.

I’ve lived alone for a while and yeah, I’ve prepared food for myself.

But that’s more like survival food – the kind you make just so there’s something in your stomach to digest.

I mean, I can make food that’s edible. It won’t poison you or anything. But tasty? Nah.

Taste, I believe, comes when you actually enjoy making food.

Like, in a poetic way – when you put ‘love’ into it, the way mothers do. Or when you’re passionate about cooking and feel genuinely happy making something for someone else.

I’ve been lucky to have people like that around me – people who enjoy cooking for others.

And when they cook, the food is definitely tasty.

So, if I had to choose something to make, I’d go with shimlamirch ki sabji. It’s the one dish I can cook comparatively better than anything else.

That, and plain simple daal. I think I do a decent job with these two.

Also, since I can’t cook much myself – I don’t throw tantrums about food. I’ve told my family, cook whatever you want, I’m totally fine with it.

Heck, I can eat the same aloo ki sabji for ten straight days. I don’t complain – because I’m not in a position to 🙂

And yeah, maybe this sounds like self-praise, but I think it’s a good habit I have.
