I mean, ideally, I’d love to say it directly to the person I’m grateful for.
Like, I have a really supportive family, and I genuinely appreciate that. I’d want to tell them face-to-face, maybe during a casual conversation.
But yeah, I don’t really do that.
I’ve tried a few times. And honestly? It was awkward.
My family looked at me like, “You okay?” or “What do you want?”
And I was just sitting there thinking, “Nope. I’m not doing this again.”
It felt weird.
So I kind of decided – maybe it’s better left unsaid, right?
Now, I mostly write it out.
Like right now, while I’m writing this blog, I’m also kind of telling my family – hey, I’m grateful for you. That’s how I sneak it in.
It’s subtle, but it’s there.
Another thing I do is post about them. On LinkedIn, or just sharing pictures and status updates that include them. It’s my way of saying, “You matter to me.”
And it’s not just my family. This goes for my friends too.
So yeah, if you see me posting pictures with you, that’s me appreciating you. That’s me saying, “Thanks for being in my life.”
Especially with guys, you won’t always hear it in words. You’ll see it in actions. In the small things. Like the ones I just mentioned.
So, be on the lookout for these small things – and tell me, have you noticed anything?
