INTRODUCTION:-
Kabir Singh is a 2019 romantic-drama Bollywood film produced by Sandeep Vanga. It is basically a Bollywood remake of his south-Indian movie,’Arjun Reddy’. The film stars Shahid Kapoor as the lead actor and Kiara Advani as the lead actress. The total runtime of the movie is 172 minutes, which is too much, again thanks to Bollywood songs. But, the film did very well at the box office. It was made on a budget of Rs60 crore but earned a considerable amount, the estimate is of Rs379 crores.

PLOT:-
The story is about Kabir Rajdheer Singh, a brilliant surgeon but has anger-management issues. Due to this, he was even considered a college bully during his college days. He falls in love with a first-year student named Preeti Sikka during college days. Over time, their bond grew stronger. The twist in the story comes when Preeti’s father decides to marry his daughter to another man. After a short time, Preeti gets married to another man, and Kabir becomes an alcoholic when he finds about the same. The rest of the story is about Kabir trying to forget Preeti and overcome his bad habits.
CHARACTERS:-
The story of the movie is perfect for first-time watchers. I had already seen the original south-Indian version, so I was not very excited about this movie. The only reason I watched this movie again was because of Shahid Kapoor. I know his level when it comes to intense acting(Haider). And to be very honest, I was not disappointed. He just nailed the given role. I even liked it better than the original one played by Vijay Deverakonda. The passion he had for Preeti, the possessiveness, the dialogue delivery, and the background music(you already know which tone I am talking about). I watched the movie on my laptop and replayed that scene over and over again. It gave me goosebumps.
Talking about Preeti’s character, I simply loved it. Kiara Advani had the innocence in her face, which was the demand of Preeti’s character. She too nailed her performance. Other characters like Shiva- Kabir’s closest friend played by Soham Majumdar did great too. His role also showed us the bond of real friendship. If you watch the movie in-depth, you will fall in love with his acting skills too.
CONCLUSION & RATING:-
It is one of the best romantic-drama movies in Bollywood. This is one of the few Bollywood movies in which I was not irritated by songs. All the songs were excellent and were very relatable to the ongoing story. The lyrics were fantastic, and almost everyone would have loved the complete song album. The only negative point I could think of while writing this review is, the movie was too long for me. The idle runtime should be slightly above 120 minutes, not more than that. I would rate this movie a 7 out of 10. I would have rated it higher if the total runtime was a bit less. Otherwise, it’s perfect in all other areas. I would recommend watching it, and now it is available on Netflix too.
