INTRODUCTION:-

Saaho is an Indian Action & Thriller movie released on the 30th of August, 2019. The film was simultaneously released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The director of the movie is Sujeeth, and the movie stars Prabhas as the lead actor and Shraddha Kapoor as the lead actress. It is the debut movie of both of the leads in Bollywood and South Indian cinema respectively. The budget of the film was around Rs 350 crores, and it is one of the most expensive movies produced in India. It has earned around Rs 412crore, Worldwide.

REVIEW:-

The plot of the story is about a crime syndicate. Various players are looking to be the kingpin and lead the crime syndicate. Each player has their own motive, and everyone is looking for the BlackBox’. Amid all this, the police force investigating a robbery initially also gets involved in this matter. Every person has their own hidden motive, who will succeed finally?

This was one of the most anticipated movies of the Bollywood this year. The story is decent enough, the character development is not very good, but it will work if you’re not an acute observer. One thing about the movie that I didn’t entirely like was the total runtime. It is almost 3 hours long, to be exactly 170 minutes! One of the primary reasons for this is songs, nearly 15 minutes of songs in the movie. It is an action-thriller, why do you need to put songs everywhere?

Now talking about the thriller part, it is decent. It is not that great. Also, I didn’t like it at some points, because it was getting confusing. I had to rewind a few times to understand, what was the scene about? I think to make it more thrilling, they complicated the story beyond the understanding level. Now, about action scenes. First, let me warn you if you are into science very much, just don’t watch it!

You will find it very, very disappointing. If you don’t know about the South-Indian cinema, let me tell you, they have science-defying action scenes in their movie. Similar is the case with Saaho. Some of the scenes are so stupid that you will laugh. The action-scenes go way beyond logic, and this was a disappointing part of the movie too. I watched this movie on Amazon Prime, and the VFX looked shitty on the laptop, but this movie was also released in IMAX, can’t say if it looked good there or not.

CONCLUSION:-

So, my conclusion of this movie is, it is a one time watch, hardly. People looking for authentic action scenes, stay away! Believe me, I am saving your 170 minutes. Also, people who try to find at least some logic in the movie, you guys too, stay away. The only positive things that I could find about this movie was it had great BGM(background music)and was stylish at some points, the entry of Prabhas and other action scenes were also very stylish. The film-makers focused too much on how to make the movie stylish, thus forgetting various other aspects like character development. The romance between Prabhas and Shraddha was also badly timed, and it dragged the movie a lot.

RATING:-

And I have a question for Indian Cinema now,’ Why does the bullet always miss the lead actors and actresses?’. Is it some sort of gift? At least be a little more realistic guys, we don’t expect very much from you. I have rated this movie 4 out of 10. I would not recommend watching this movie unless you have enough time to waste it.
