I would say money & popularity and how much you need of it.
Yeah, definitely you need money for survival and as humans we crave attention at least from a few people – possible crush, friends, family etc.
But, I have always had that in mind ‘Do i really need it?’ and then I would argue with myself for hours – listing the pros and cons of each and arguing why or why not I need it?
But, I think I am coming to a solution ; at least to the money part. I am not there yet and I know it is a constant struggle especially with me – who thinks one way one day and then the other way the other day.
So, for me and knowing my past experiences and everything – I feel I don’t need more money, I always crave for more peace, more silence and zero drama if possible.
Yeah, for all the things you need money – travel, food and whatnot. But, I am willing to compromise on my desires if the money is coming hampering my peace of mind.
Yeah, I will have some regret but atleast I would have that peace of mind.
Opportunity cost right? You have to lose one thing or the other. You cannot have it all!
And about popularity, I am a social media marketer. So, I always had this that I should have a following, people should like my posts, give thoughtful comments etc.
Basically, attention.
But, lately I have been avoiding that and it feels good.
I am posting content that is me – the real me.
Like, this blog. I am not second-thinking what I am writing, just writing my heart-out.
And that is why you will see a lot of grammatical mistakes in this, but I don’t give a shit. This is my online journal and I will treat it the same way.
And it feels liberating when you don’t have this fear of people judging you or what you are posting. I have also started posting with my face and I now don’t seem to care what people think about me or what I am posting.
And I would like to keep it that way!
